I started playing the piano when I was seven years old. Since then I have had three different piano teachers, Ms.Lana being my most current one. During our lessons, she helped me immensely by focusing on my specific weaknesses rather than teaching a generic curriculum. The result was a constructive lesson in which time was never wasted. One thing I particularly liked about our lessons was that Ms. Lana gave me the freedom to choose songs I wanted to learn (as long as they matched my level of difficulty). To give me options, she would also play several different songs and allow me to choose my favorites. My experience with Ms. Lana was always fun and professional. With her as a teacher, playing the piano was never boring. I would recommend her to anyone who is interested in playing piano but also has a busy schedule.

Mathematical Skills

While engaging in music, a child develops mathematical skills. A student thinks spatially getting to the right keys, manipulates abstract sound figures memorizing the music text. Structure & Hierarchy

Music is structural and hierarchical: massive compositions fall into less magnitude parts, which in turn are divided into smaller themes and fragments, consisting of minor phrases and motifs. The spontaneous understanding of the musical hierarchy facilitates the understanding of a computer, also entirely hierarchical and structural. Music leads directly to the apex of a computer science; so not without reason Microsoft prefers employees with music education.

Multitasking

Musical lessons nurture small "Caesars", who can do many things at once. Music promotes multitasking. For example, a pianist does several things at once while reading from the music text. He remembers the past, looks to the future and controls the present. The music flows at its own pace, and the reader cannot stop, relax, and take a breath. An air traffic controller, a computer operator or an exchange broker similarly monitors multiple screens and simultaneously listens and transmits information over several phones.
